About Us.
The Saskatchewan Safety Council has a long-standing tradition of commitment to serve you, the individual and your organization. Formed in 1955, the Council is a non-government, non-profit charitable organization dedicated to preventing injuries and fatalities in our province. Through training, education and advocacy, we are working to make safety a priority for everyone.
Our scope has grown over the years to include four divisions: Traffic, Occupation, Farm, and Home & Community. Each offers comprehensive safety training programs, campaigns, materials and consulting throughout Saskatchewan.
What can we do to prevent injuries?
Our injury problem means that the people we care about - at home and at work - are at risk. We need only to think of the personal, financial and societal losses to know that injuries are not "just accidents".
It is time to challenge this view. Health care should not focus only upon the diagnosis and treatment of injuries. Preventing injuries before they occur is also important, and will save lives and money.
We believe that the first step begins with EDUCATION. Our goal is to raise awareness and provide information so that we can make informed choices. Avoiding injuries is not the result of good luck; it is the result of effective safety education and training. The Saskatchewan Safety Council is just a phone call away to help you meet your safety needs on or off the job.
