The Canada Safety Council’s Defensive Driving program is an established, proven program that meets the needs of today’s complex traffic environment. The course is delivered through a combination of case studies, class discussions, written exercises, lectures and videos.
Topics include:
Length: 6 hours
This course is designed to provide drivers with an overview of safety concerns related to 15-passenger vans, as well as defensive driving tips to ensure that every trip is a safe trip. The course is a must for any business that transports employees in large vans. If necessary, the Saskatchewan Safety Council offers an in-vehicle training component.
Topics include:
Length: 3.5 hours (classroom), 1 day (with in-vehicle training)
In-vehicle assessments include one-on-one driver evaluation and instructor critiques in defensive driving, collision avoidance, skid control and other areas. The Saskatchewan Safety Council’s qualified driving instructors are available to assist your staff in avoiding collisions despite driving conditions or the actions of others.
Length: 1 – 2 hours
The Canada Safety Council’s Professional Driver Improvement Course (PDIC) is an established program that meets the needs of today’s complex traffic environment. PDIC helps professional drivers improve their defensive driving techniques. The course will help drivers prevent collisions, save lives, deliver cargo safely and on time, reduce costs and maintain good driving habits.

This 3-day course, depending on the number of participants, is available to staff members who want to become certified PDIC or DDC instructors in their workplace.
