INTRODUCTION TO THE TRANSPORTATION OF DANGEROUS GOODS (TDG)

New TDG regulations (commonly known as the Clear Language Regulations) took effect as of August 15, 2002.  These new regulations will affect anyone offering for transport, transporting or handling dangerous goods.  Regulations require that anyone handling, offering for transport or transporting dangerous goods be trained on those products.

*Additional site-specific training may be required to fully comply with TDG regulations.  Since the number and type of products uses varies from location to location, pricing for site-specific training will be done on an individual basis.



INTRODUCTION TO WHMIS

Canada-wide regulations require that anyone working either with or in the vicinity of materials classifies under WHMIS regulations receive proper training.

Topics include:

  • WHMIS legislation
  • General requirements and responsibilities
  • WHMIS classifications and symbols
  • Supplier and workplace labels
  • Exemptions
  • Material safety data sheets
  • How to implement WHMIS in the workplace

Length: 1/2 day

TRANSPORTATION OF DANGEROUS GOODS/WHMIS COMBINED

Length: 8 – 10 hours

WHMIS INSTRUCTOR COURSE

This course is available to people interested in conducting WHMIS training in their own workplace.  Participants learn how to implement a WHMIS program, discuss legislation, cover the basics of job instruction techniques and adult education, and practice giving a WHMIS presentation.

Length:  1 – 2 days (depending on previous training and experience)
