Important Note: Career Safety Education has undergone a number of improvements that took effect January 1, 2023. The programs are now available to everyone in Saskatchewan. New programs have been added, and the processes for registration and participation streamlined.
For youth prior to their entry into the workforce, new workers starting in a new job or industry, or new Canadians just having moved to Saskatchewan, the Career Safety Education series of free workplace safety training programs builds a foundation of knowledge for any new worker by increasing the participants' awareness of hazards and providing a baseline understanding of how to manage the risks present in a broad variety of industries.
Career Safety Education (CSE) is the first program of its kind in North America. While the emphasis is on new and young workers, CSE provides universal access to completely FREE safety training for everyone in Saskatchewan. Thanks to generous partners, sponsors, members, and donors we are proud to deliver free online training to new and experienced workers everywhere in Saskatchewan. |

This program nurtures an understanding of injury prevention theories that will result in fewer injuries in workplaces, during recreational activities, in and around homes, and on Saskatchewan roads.
All online components of CSE are specifically designed by industry safety experts to address the most common injuries to young and new workers in their respective fields.
The standard series of online components may be complemented with practical on-site training if a community or group can secure sponsorship to pay the delivery costs.
To complete Career Safety Education, four foundation-building safety courses must be completed.

For Employers
New workers, regardless of age or demographics, have a statistically higher rate of injury in the workplace. These workers have yet to gain the valuable experience that their co-workers may have, many often have less training provided to them until they are through a probationary period. It can be a significant investment to train a new hire in all of the different subjects that you hope to, and that training may be spread out over a number of months. But what if you could get that new worker a significant amount of that training at no cost?
Career Safety Education offers a variety of free essential safety courses that could benefit your future employees. Employers can pick and choose which programs fit into their new-hire process, making sure that each new employee gets consistent, high quality safety information before starting your company-specific training.
Employers can ask to see proof of Career Safety Education as part of an application process, demonstrating the future employee's commitment to the job they are applying for, and helping to screen the potential candidates down to those that are more truly committed.
If you are interested in extending your organization brand to a large pool of new workers that will be actively seeking employment, consider a sponsorship opportunity as well!
Ready to register a group of employees in Career Safety Education?
If so, please complete the form below. Once the form is complete and submitted to the Saskatchewan Safety Council, we will ask for the completion of an Employer Application Form and submission of a employee list so progress can be tracked. Alternatively, employees may register as individuals, which is also required for groups participants but without the added benefit of the progress tracking.
